Today's issue, on the 31st anniversary of the Queen's accession, is devoted almost entirely to the first part of a very special series. We took a week at random from the Royal calendar and assigned a team of top writers/photographers to cover every engagement, large and small, reporting how each individual member of the Royal family coped with the job. In this first instalment, we follow Prince Philip to Germany to inspect Army and RAF bases, and hear of the Duchess of Kent singing in the Bach Choir at the Albert Hall. We accompany Princess Diana to a film premiere, and Princess Anne to a cavalry barracks.
